New ZEISS PureCoat Plus BlueProtect
Do you need to protect your eyesight while working from home and you're not sure how to do it? Blue light glasses have become a must-have for individuals with long hours in front of computer screens. Working from home has become normal for so many Wisconsin families in the last year and the need is more pertinent than ever to protect your eyes and eye health!
- Why is blue light harmful? Over exposure to blue-violet light can cause dry eyes, headaches, insomnia, and more. There are many sources of blue light exposure. Computer screens, such as LED TC’s, tablets, smartphones, LED bulbs, and even the sun can be a contributing factor. In other words, most of us come into contact with blue light in some way every single day, thus the need to protect our eyes (especially as technology advances) is more important than ever before.
- What is the solution? Wisconsin Vision’s specialty coating is created by Zeiss, an industry leader in optical technology. It’s applied at our own LBC Optics Len’s lab, and targets two common eye strain issues; reflections and blue light. It’s our anti-reflective coating, formulated to allow more light into the lens and reduce eye strain, with an additional layer that filters out the harmful blue light.
Our specialty solution is tuned blue blocking reflectance that blocks harmful blue-violet light and reduces the amount that reaches your eyes. This is important because it reduces the overall exposure to harmful blue-violet light from digital devices and other light sources.
Without the anti-reflective coating, a wearer can experience eye fatigue, loss of light reaching the eyes, and visual stress. This can occur when driving (headlights look like a starburst) and affect your reaction time as well as leading to more straining of the eyes. Without the blue light protection, harmful blue light can enter through the lens, leading to disrupted sleep, eye strain, headaches, dry eyes, and other complaints. Our coating addresses both of these issues and more, without yellow lenses.
