Tele-Optometry & Virtual Eye Exams

FOX6 News Milwaukee Visits Wisconsin Vision

The Wisconsin Vision team recently had the opportunity to show FOX6 News the Tele-Optometry technology available for customers all over Wisconsin.

Tele-Optometry allows patients the flexibility to schedule an appointment at home while still having an in-person exam with a remote refractionist and eye doctor at a Wisconsin Vision Center. Since our start of Tele-Optometry in October 2021, we have completed over 4,000 telehealth exams and currently offer telehealth exams in 8 of our centers!

Remote Refraction Tests at Wisconsin Vision

Brian, from FOX6, helped us demonstrate a remote refraction test (aka the “better 1 or better 2?” test). The telehealth automated technology allowed the refractionist/technician, Sam, to carry out the test remotely.

Sam seamlessly walked Brian through the process, and she was able to change the lenses and control the refractor device from a remote location. She then compared his old prescription to the new one we found today. Much crisper and clearer vision!
